the 1½ hit wonder

all the running is starting to take its toll. for five months i ran about a mile and a half, seven days a week and never a problem. now, running 2-3 days a week at 4-6 miles has my knees aching, some muscle or something on my thigh hurting so bad that it kills to bend my leg at the hip, and has blistered my feet up like no tomorrow. now someone like kim might say that it’s not healthy and i should stop. someone like me would say to just let my wounds heal up enough to run again then get back out. i figure i will toughen up if i keep at it. this isn’t a freaking marathon so it’s not like people can't run this distance. my legs just aren’t up to par with this kind of running i guess. give it time.

Little Miss Sunshine (2006): a little fat girl (you'll understand if you see the movie) and her family try to get her to a pagent, but will they make it or will the family's disfunctionality keep them from reaching their destination? don't worry they make it. the way that all the characters are each introducted in the beginning is really good. and it was nice to not have to sit and watch stupid credits rolling through either. i really liked every character. greg kinnear's character as the dad is really a douche and it's a wonder that the mom would even have stayed with him that long. throughout the whole movie while they are driving in the vw, you can see the cop cars through the rear window keeping the traffic back for the shoot. it got annoying. i liked how they never showed olive's routine, but gets subtly talked about throughout the movie. there are some really beautiful shots with lots of cool perspective shots (or whatever you would call them). and i have to say, the humor is really good. but the way the pagent ends is a little ridiculous. and there are slow parts and i didn't really feel that the movie brought too much emotion out of me. but it's heartfelt and well done i guess. see it.
fair, B-

kim is in newest city of york for library stuff. she’s so cool. she has to have meetings with UN library people at the united nations building. and she is going to see a musical. so i’m glad she there because it’s not a vacation by any means, but it’s a nice break from the routine she’s been in since we’ve moved back.

so, single file, the little band here that consists of a couple of old high school friends, was played on the radio for the first time here in denver a couple nights ago. it wasn’t the greatest song in the world and they sounded like every other band that’s been around for 4 years now. but hopefully they can get some more radio play in denver. i don’t see them ever getting any bigger than becoming an opening band for the bands that get all the main radio play here in denver. i see them becoming maybe a 1½ hit wonder if that. they just don’t have any edge that would put them over any other band. we’ll see.

myspace sucks because it can’t refresh your home screen automatically. it just sits there idle. myspace also sucks because there is no real good way to notify the user when a new message or whatever is received. google makes these myspace homos look like the amateurs they are. or maybe they designed the system so that it basically runs itself and tom and his people are just out spending their millions and neglecting myspace completely. myspace also sucks because you have to scroll down on your home page to see if you have any messages or not. although i wouldn’t want to take up their precious advertising space. i have so much homework.
